He turned to art-making in his 30s and in 2003 began an apprenticeship with famed artist Itzchak Tarkay. Najar was influenced by the Impressionists and Post-Impressionists, and uses coiled brushstrokes, rippling patterns and saturated colours in his oil and acrylic paintings.
