German School Anthony and Cleopatra oil on canvas 53,5 x 69 cm. Condition The canvas has been lined. There are a number of old repaired dameges to the work, particularly in the area around the figures' heads, in the upper left and upper right sections. There are also some areas of minor paint loss the these sections. There is light craquelure and minor paint separation in places. The paint is slightly this in certain areas. Ultraviolet light reveals minor retouching in places including to the right hand figure's face, and an uneven varnish. Held in a simple frame in fair condition.
