Teils mit Craquelé teils mit Farbverlust. Brugger, Andreas 1737 Kressbronn - 1812 Langenargen probably. Saint Bernard of Clairvaux with the instruments of the Passion of Christ. Oil on canvas. Signed and dated 1754 on the verso, the finely worked out style suggests that he was a pupil of Maulbertsch. Size c. 59 x 47 cm, frame c. 63 x 51 cm. Canvas doubled. Partly with craquelé, partly with loss of colour.
