John Currin The Pink Tree signed on the reverse oil on paper 45.7 by 31.4cm. 18 by 12 3/8 in. Executed in 2007. Condition Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is slightly softer in the original.<br><br>Condition: This work is in very good condition. Catalogue Note The ICA presented John Currin's first major solo exhibition in the UK in 1995. This show featured a whole host of female bodies on canvas, from blue-eyed big-breasted blondes, to enigmatic portraits of middle-aged women and a haunting series of sick or indolent women in bed. Currin was also included in the group exhibition Surprise Surprise, 2006 , and his work featured in the ICA's 50th anniversary auction in 1997. The Pink Tree , 2007, depicts two female nudes with exaggerated proportions, an image which has been re-configured by Currin in various works, including an oil painting from 1999 of the same title, and which is in the collection of the Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C.
