Stuart Shils Oil on Board by Stuart Shils (1954-). Depicting an impressionist painting of City Limits. Signature not seen on image - most likely under the border - however signed on back. Also has notation - Retouched May 1996. Measures 10" tall x 15.5" wide. Shils, who was born in Philadelphia, lives in Mount Airy and has painted outdoors, en plein air, for thirty years. He teaches at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, where he also studied painting as a student of Arthur De Costa and Seymour Remenick. Shils also teaches in the Jerusalem Studio School’s summer program in Italy. He has been a visiting artist at a number of national and international schools and institutions.
